The Friends is an independent registered charity, which was set up in 1931 to support the work of Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.  Over the years, this has extended to include nine museum sites that now make up the current Birmingham Museums Trust. Find out more about who we are and what we do on the ‘About Us‘ page.

Keep watching this website for announcements arising from the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.

Our quarterly magazine, ‘Artefacts‘ is widely admired. We are delighted that, after a break in publication due to Covid-19, ‘Artefacts’ is being published again on a quarterly basis. Archive editions of ‘Artefacts’ and the Friends’ E-Newsletter can be downloaded here.

We welcome your feedback and suggestions. Please use the ‘Contact us’ page to tell us what we’re doing right or to make suggestions on what we might improve.
